The Mama and Papas’ California Dreamin’ and The Doors’ Waiting for the Sun epitomized this psychedelic shoot with John Mayer in Laurel Canyon, just steps from Jim Morrison’s old dwelling.
Ghosts from singer/songwriter past (that called this hallowed ground home), seemed to float through the stained glass sunbeams, perfectly reflecting onto John – a modern day master of their art.
The awesome vibe was accentuated by Mayer’s attachment to the location given his newly released album Born and Raised which took particular influence from Laurel Canyon musicians like David Crosby, Graham Nash and Neil Young.
American Songwriter stated “Mayer approaches Born and Raised like a method actor, diving headfirst into his new sound – a mix of Laurel Canyon folk and California country-rock…”. Check it out at:http://shadowdays.johnmayer.com/
